Wow I haven't blogged in like 10 years! Apologies!
Well, we're currently talking about force diagrams in physics! I understand them pretty well (I think). One thing I completely understand clearly: if something is not moving or moves at a constant velocity, the net force is ZERO. If the net force is not zero, that means the object in question is changing velocity/direction.
We are starting to do force diagrams that involve civics different directions, ones that make us draw our lines in the force diagram at an angle, but as we're not very far into it, I can't really analyze that part yet.
Overall physics has improved immensely from when we talked about acceleration. There's a lot more discovery and inter-student discussion, but I know we can do even better!! Some people are still giving up and they don't have to! If anyone's ever frustrated with their table or can't understand or feels like they're not benefitting feel free to come to me or any other person- everyone's glad to help!

Acceleration?
Hello!
My, it's been a LONG while since I blogged. Really sorry about that. I think the reason for my lack of blogging is due to a partial lack of understanding. We recently finished a lab which seemed to wrap up velocity and time graphs, as well as position time graphs, as well as introduce acceleration and time graphs. I thought I understand the lab ok, but a few of the graphs surprised me, and I hoped to discuss why they did what they did. However we are currently discussing what I believe is an equation for acceleration, but I honestly have no idea what it's doing or what it's using or anything. I'm lost. It seems about two people in class get it, and everyone else is a little lost as far as the equation goes (based off my observations and the people I've talked to). I am hoping we soon explain the equation more and try to clarify those few things. When that happens I'll definitely blog about it!
Merry CHRISTmas and a happy 2014!
